Treatment Coordinator at West Park Dental 20 Years and Counting
The way I would describe my favorite part of the job at West Park Dental is helping my patients maintain and restore their dental health. I have always worked on the administrative side--not chairside in clinical treatment of patients--and I have been here at this practice for 20 years. Being here for so many years has given me the opportunity to see generations of families come through our doors. We see parents, children, grandkids as well as ex-wives, ex-husbands and others.
One of the most interesting things that has happened is that we built and moved into a building that was adjacent to our old space, which is now our parking lot. I was here when this building was built and we moved the practice into it. Dr. Gallagher bought a house and tore it down, and while this building was being built we continued to work out of our other building nearby. It only took a weekend to move all of the supplies and equipment into the new space—which was so exciting at the time—and then we were up and running for business the following Monday. The process took a lot of coordination and the move actually went very smoothly.
When we designed the building there was a great deal of planning involved, of course, and it was our opportunity to create a smooth workflow in terms of both the clinical and front office space. We were careful to think about what we wanted the entry space and front desk area to look like, to ensure that we represented the doctors properly for the work they do.
We have been in this building for 16 years and it is a lovely space. We are dedicated to upgrading the medical equipment and painting and redoing the carpet on a regular basis to keep things fresh and appropriate for the level of service we provide to patients in the practice.
